About
"Do you have a condition or niggling symptoms that are holding you back from truly enjoying life?
Would you like to regain health by following a personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan
designed in a way so you can easily incorporate into your everyday life?
Hi my name is Therese I am a registered Nutritional Therapist with governing body CNHC and professional body BANT specifically for nutritionists qualified in scientific and clinical practice.
My passion lies in helping women through each stage of life such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, perimenopause and menopause by providing the best nutritional and lifestyle advice to overcome PMS, hormonal imbalance, and unwanted symptoms such as stress, anxiety, tiredness, low mood, skin and digestive issues and weight gain.
We are all biochemically different therefore our needs and feelings will be varied and this is why I tailor each plan to suit each woman's wonderful uniqueness. I believe that every woman can feel great through uncomplicated nutrition. I don’t believe in faddy diets that are short-lived, demotivating and conflicting. My aim is to bring the main attention back to good honest food and how it can nourish, bring inner balance and regain happiness again.
A little bit about me:
I am a mum of two children ages 10 and 12, originally from Ireland and now living in Surrey. I understand the challenges that motherhood can bring knowing it can be simultaneously rewarding and terrifying right from the start. In my 30's I developed genetic hypertension while pregnant, triggering my curiosity into how the right food and lifestyle choices can support a condition, while also helping me understand the importance of looking after myself alongside looking after my children. The seed of interest in ‘food as medicine’ developed from here leading to research into how food can heal, learning healthy cooking, pursuing a qualification in personal training and finally spending three years at the College of Naturopathic Medicine passing with distinction. Now I feel fortunate to share my knowledge and help women through each stage of their life.
My qualification involves continuous up to date professional development in the field of nutrition and wellbeing. Examples include: management of anxiety through nutrition, nutrigenomics, practitioner testing and completing a supervisory role in CNM clinics.
What to expect when we work together:
Before an initial consultation I will ask you to complete and return a nutrition and lifestyle questionnaire along with a five day diet diary. This is an overview of your health history and present concerns.
An initial consultation lasts approximately 90 minutes during which time I will ask questions regarding your diet, symptoms, medical and family history, present lifestyle and medication/supplement intake. It may also consist of body composition measurements.
From there I will develop your personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan within two days from the initial consultation. This will then be sent either by email or post (allow extra delivery time for post).
Follow up consultations last 50-60 minutes and takes place 6-8 weeks from the initial consultation.
During this session I will check your progress and make any necessary adjustments. Some people may need a second or third follow up depending on their situation.
