Michelle is a fully qualified and fully registered acupuncturist in Surrey. She trained at the renowned College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading for three and a half years. The acupuncture degree course is validated by Kingston University and accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board (BAAB). Michelle has received further specialist training in gynaecology, fertility, pregnancy, pain and facial enhancement acupuncture.
As a member of the British Acupuncture Council, Michelle follows the Council’s Codes of Ethics and Safe Practice, which is one of the mandatory requirements for membership. Only fine, single-use, pre-sterilised, disposable needles are used and Michelle follows approved safety procedures.
She practices Traditional Acupuncture, combining the style of Chinese Medicine to treat a wide variety of physical, mental and emotional symptoms with the more modern techniques of 5-Element acupuncture, which treat the underlying constitution of a person to promote optimal well-being.
Having gained a degree in Mathematics, a Master's degree in Medical Statistics and spending 12 years working in western medical research, Michelle became aware of the fact that there is more to the health of a human being than just the physical. She went on to study for a Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology and then Holistic Massage. With this newly acquired knowledge and whilst working at a complementary health clinic, Michelle became more interested in the flow of energy in the body and in the power of the mind. Having benefited from acupuncture herself, she decided to channel this interest and study for the degree qualification, so that one day, she might be able to pass the benefits onto others.

Your first appointment will typically last approximately 90 minutes (follow up treatments last an hour) and will consist of a thorough consultation. If it is your very first experience of acupuncture, time will be dedicated to explaining what will happen in order to ensure your complete comfort and relaxation.
A full understanding of a person’s general health and lifestyle is required for optimal treatment. Therefore details of the main complaint will be taken in great depth and questions will be asked about medical history and factors such as sleeping patterns, appetite, digestion and emotional wellbeing. Some questions may seem unrelated to the main complaint, however it builds a complete picture for an accurate diagnosis in Chinese Medicine.
COST : Initial consultation (approx 1 hour): £50 Initial consultation plus treatment (approx 2 hours):£75 Follow-up Treatments (1 hour): £60
