About
I have an interest in all areas of Women's health and from personal experience I enjoy very much supporting women with their post-natal health, having been lucky enough to have my second baby whilst living in China, which introduced me to the nurturing philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) towards new Mothers.
This allowed me to experience a completely different sense of post natal well-being and a new enjoyment of motherhood, which I hadn't experienced with my first child - the result of too many sleepless nights and a lack of appreciation of how best to nourish myself at this time.
Feeling so well this time around, I researched and explored the fascinating world of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), experiencing Acupuncture to great benefit myself and as a result, on my return home to the UK, I decided to retrain as an Acupuncturist and studied the discipline for 3 and a half years, graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Acupuncture from the renowned College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading.
My earlier career was within Pharmaceutical Medicine and friends can be surprised, given my background, that I am now an Acupuncturist, but I believe that both Eastern and Western therapies have their places in benefiting our health and well-being, depending on the individual, their health needs and circumstances.
I am a 5 Element and Traditional Chinese Practitioner, allowing me to treat acute health conditions, whilst working with you to work at a more holistic level to address the root cause of complaints which can manifest from everyday lifestyle factors, including emotional and / or physical stress.
I founded Tewkesbury Lodge Acupuncture Clinic to support people's health by incorporating Acupuncture and other TCM therapies including cupping therapy and tui na massage, into everyday healthcare.

This Consultation will last ~ 2 hours, to include a first treatment.
Non-Needling Treatments may also form part of treatment, complimenting Acupuncture or used as a standalone treatment:
*Moxibustion: heat is applied to an acupuncture point using moxa (a therapeutic herb) to warm and relax muscles and nourish the point
Tui na: Chinese therapeutic massage relieves muscle tension, stimulates acupressure points and opens energy meridians to stimulate the flow of energy (qi) within the body
*Cupping therapy: glass cups with a vacuum seal are placed on the skin to stimulate blood flow and clear stagnant qi which can block the natural flow of this energy in our bodies
*Gua sha: vigorous rubbing of the skin increases blood flow and clears stagnant qi
