About
In 2001 I graduated university with a degree in Financial Economics but thankfully in 2008 after a short career in The City of London a course in clinical hypnosis & psychotherapy led me up path that would change my life forever.
Before I had finished the course, people were asking if I could help them fix their problems. Help them lose weight, stop smoking, break habits. I soon had a therapy room near to the office, closely followed by a room in Harley Street. I was working 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. in a busy investment bank and then racing to my therapy room to see clients. Something had to change. In 2009 I decided to win the rat race by leaving my employer to set up as a full time, self-employed hypnotherapist. It was soon after this that Sue and I decided to lock ourselves in a hotel room for several days and nights to write our fertility2birth hypnobirthing programme. The fertility work came shortly after.
In more recent years I have published a hypnobirthing book, furthered my studies and therapeutic capabilities with a masters degree (MSc) in Consciousness and Transpersonal Psychology and taught many other hypnotherapists some of my techniques.
In 2011 after the birth of my first daughter I chose to focus on my practice in Farnham, Surrey alongside day workshops around the country. In 2017 I trained with The Red Tent Doulas to become a doula, a role that compliments the hypnobirthing work beautifully. I have thoroughly enjoyed supporting a number of woman throughout pregnancy right through to being with them at the birth of their baby.
I gave birth to both of my daughters at home, without any pain relief other than hypnobirthing. My birth stories and videos can be found on the birth stories page of my website.

Who am I...
At first sight I’m probably what you would consider mainstream. Whilst I surround myself with hippy types that have beautiful flowing locks and dress in earthy tones I can be easily spotted as the one wearing the cotton hoodie in a colour that is quite obviously chemically created!
Despite having had a Great Aunt that was a yogi, a Nan that was everything I surround myself with – a planet conscious vegan, a mind and body health activist. Another Nan whose psychology bookshelf is far more advanced than mine and a Dad that started a degree in psychology, those parts of me were suppressed as I grew, surrounded by image conscious people focused mostly on academic achievement and not emotional health. As I develop I am starting to express those parts of me. This can be seen clearly by looking at my academic background, the financial economist, that became a hypnotherapist, and more recently transpersonal psychologist. Whatever next?!
I can be found in the local refill shop trying my best to significantly reduce plastic usage. I am also frequenting the charity shops because I genuinely care more about the planet and the future of my potential grandchildren than my own image. I feel better when I eat a diet that is focused on unprocessed foods and organic, traceable, unmedicated etc! meat.
My two daughters (born in 2011 and 2014) go to a particularly lovely school that equally values community and being outdoors. This means that we spend a lot of our time in wellies stomping in puddles and mud. We are particularly lucky that the people in this community are non judgemental, accepting, kind, strong people with high morals and integrity. I love nothing more than being in that environment, though my hate of being cold means I am nearly always dressed in more layers than can easily be counted. My partner Matt and I have been together since 2005, we spend all of our free time as a family but we haven’t found a need to be married yet!
I am a massive foodie which leads me to being an avid exerciser. I try to exercise six times a week and split that between gym classes, running and swimming. I have pulled myself back from being the last one picked for the team in school PE to running three London Marathons and walking one MoonWalk marathon in adult life. I have found that I am my most creative whilst exercising. I wrote this bio in my head whilst swimming – the original version was so much better. I’m not too sure about the speed of technology but I’m looking forward to the day I can search through the chip in my brain to find the thoughts I had at a specified time on a certain day and watch as it’s all transcribed out for me!
I am a massive advocate for the rights of children. I find it difficult to see children not being heard and it’s something that I am always considering when I work, whether that be with a child or with an adult that was once a child. I try to respect others and remember that every person is a person, regardless of their age or status. I am a big researcher and so I hope that my work is evidence based. However when I am prepping for a client you will not find me in a textbook or reading a research paper. I do read these things but I hope that – even though I feel I’ve achieved most of my qualifications through knowing the right place to look – when I work intuitively as I do I am being guided by the knowledge I’ve gained through my reading.
