I am a qualified post-natal consultant, maternity nurse and breastfeeding counsellor.
I run a consultancy service supporting and advising parents on all aspects of newborn care and feeding. I visit clients at home and also support them online and through telephone consultations. If you would prefer a clinic setting I also see clients at Oak Park Clinic in Crondall Farnham. I also teach pre-natal breastfeeding workshops for Yoga Mums Farnham and The Mama Space in Farnborough.
I am a mum to four children including twins which gives me first hand experience of newborns, breastfeeding, sleep, routines, feeding and childcare. More importantly it gives me an understanding of what is needed and of real use to a new mother in terms of preparation before, and support after the birth.
It is reassuring to be able to seek advice or discuss questions of care outside the family, routine services and the many books on various methods of childcare. Every baby is different and may not fit the routine suggested. As your post natal consultant I can offer you advice and give you practical support on all aspects of infant care.

The key To Contented Breastfeeding Workshop
I designed and wrote the course having attended antenatal courses myself for my children. Coming away feeling unprepared and not really knowing how I was going to actually feed! Just because breastfeeding is natural, doesn’t always mean it is easy. Telling a mum repeatedly to put baby to the breast as I was told many times is like asking a learner driver to do a hill start in their first driving lesson.
Fundamentally a mum who has good breastfeeding knowledge before their baby is born is equipped to get off to a great start. Also as always your baby won’t have read the book or attended my workshop so to speak, therefore you will need to teach them how to latch on properly, to take a good and effective feed. Your baby maybe very sleepy after the birth or may not be with you initially and may need an alternative plan in the short term.
My course is a complete ‘how to guide’ to fully establish feeding, from the first few hours and onwards. This A to Z of breastfeeding, including the anatomy of breastfeeding, antenatal preparation, hand expressing, the first few days, combination feeding, looking after yourself, milk supply, common concerns and remedies and much more. The key to successful breastfeeding is to learn and understand how breastfeeding works physiologically and how to establish feeding when your baby arrives.
This workshop takes place at your home and lasts roughly 90 minutes. Group bookings are also available. Partners are most welcome.
‘I owe my breastfeeding confidence and success to Jilly. Her knowledge and practical advice made me feel prepared for the arrival of my baby girl... I was anxious about feeding until I had my one to one session with her and as a result feeding has been an absolute joy’ Amy, Fleet

She instilled a sense of calm and confidence back into me when I had begun to doubt my own instincts. She is wonderful, I wish I had got her in sooner. Thank you Jilly!' Mary, Church Crookham
