Becoming a parent is arguably the greatest period of change that a person can experience. There are emotional, physical, lifestyle and psychological changes to navigate, add onto this the sleepless nights and understandably this experience, which is so often joyful can also feel overwhelming for many.
I provide individual counselling for women at any point of their motherhood journey, particularly through pregnancy and those all important first few months and years.
I am a fully qualified and insured counsellor and recognised the need for further support for new mums after having my own children, and realising that, even as a counsellor, I was unprepared for the intensity of emotion across all 4 trimesters. I am passionate about counselling women through this time so that they can begin to move past their challenges and experience more of the joy that comes from being a parent.

Face to face counselling
Individual counselling sessions can support with a range of difficult feelings. Perhaps you are struggling to come to terms with a traumatic birth, are feeling crippling anxiety through pregnancy or as a new mum, or becoming a parent has brought up difficulties from your past. These are all very common responses to becoming a Mother, and there are so many other difficulties that can arise at this point. Talking them through in a confidential, non judgemental space can be very useful and help with adjustment.
My counselling style is integrative, meaning that I trained in a range of approaches and draw on what I feel is best for the client. Please feel free to contact me and discuss whether counselling may be right for you at this point. The first session is always a reduced fee trial session where we can meet and decide together whether this would be the best support for you.
