Birth and baby preparation
Most couples expecting a baby invest a huge amount of time and money in good antenatal classes and birth preparation, but here are some suggestions for planning ahead to after your baby is born, so you can feel confidently prepared for getting through those early weeks with a newborn! You can even formalise this in a written postnatal recovery plan.
Primarily, it’s really important to make sure you have good postnatal support in place. This may come from your friends or family, but its worth considering a postnatal doula if you don’t have others you can reliably call on to help you practically and emotionally during this time.
